Plagiarism by xChocoBearx3 Plagiarism by xChocoBearx3
It's something that is Growing on DA more and more everyday, and it is not funny.

When you use as "base" or "Inspiration" a popular character to create yours; such as a new hedgehog similar to sonic, I'd call it Fan-Character, and it is Acceptable.

But, when you simply LACK OF CREATIVITY and recolor or retrace something YOU DIDN'T CREATE (and sometimes, even use same name) I call Plagiarism.
and For Me, is a way to Steal someone's work, so For Me Is Not Acceptable.

Plagiarism is a Close Imitation of language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions aka. Art, of an Author with creativity that is Copied making the...(*sigh* i can't find a word for this person so..) THIEF famous by the other author art.

yeah... I agree.

What if you get involved with an RPG and you create an offspring character. You created it, your character gave birth to it, you named it, developed it, and played it in the RPG. Unfortunately, before you even had a chance to develop what you had created into something you can enjoy, your friend develops an unhealthy obsession with the character and constantly takes over it and treats it as her own. She thinks that just because her character is the father of all offspring characters, it gives her the right to control each and every one of them and treat them as her own. She also thinks that it gives her the right to force every one of them to be a carbon copy of their father, leaving my character's genetics out completely and force them all to become overpowering warriors and monarchs. They can't be nothing else and if you dare try to change it, your friend screams, cries, and throw temper tantrums demanding that you change it back to the way it was before and won't stop until you give her what she wants. In the end, you're stuck with a character that you grow to hate and feel miserable until you had enough and finally ended the friendship.

Now that the friendship and RPG is over, your now ex friend becomes more obsessed with the character than ever before. Instead of taking the character and create something she can call her own, she doesn't change ANYTHING and kept EVERYTHING from the RPG and claims it completely as her own. She has been bragging about drawing the character and writing bad profiles/storylines of it non stop and suddenly her entire gallery becomes flooded with pictures of a character that was once yours. She manipulates the truth and tricks everyone into thinking the character is hers and still believes it, even if I had called her out on it countless times along with several others. And I am not the only victim of her twisted viewpoints of "co ownership" she had stolen characters from her ex boyfriends and traits from her other friends as well.

And the worst part is, there's nothing anyone can do to stop her and I feel so much anger burning inside of me for all the drama she put me through to gain this character in her custody. Now that she has her way with me for the final time, the character becomes the biggest Mary Sue trainwreck that ever existed. Quite frankly I am EMBARRASSED by the character and want nothing more than for the character to disappear... guess that will never happen...

What do you think of this?

Need new friends.
On the off chance they're still here, have a help desk…
And the takedown

i'm fine in that department... i just hate it when people control characters and treat them as their own then eventually steal them for themselves with the intention of getting them published someday. That is the worst kind of plagiarism out there....

I don't respect most base use, especially badly used bases and people that call themselves artists - only to have ONLY TRACED BASES in their gallery.

It is a shame really and I admit - I use bases sometimes myself, but only for fun and I don't claim them as "My work".

i know some people who only use bases, and even sell those away as "characters" (i dont know How and Why people buy those..)

i used some bases too, but i either don't put in a folder or leave at scraps, i just use if i'm not able to do it(like the stamp-stiker form, i just cant make it) or for fun(that ones of big groups each friend complete a bit)
